Do you have Stair Options for Modin?

We offer full treads for individual steps and nosings for steps, landings, and edge finishing. The right option depends on your Modin collection and staircase layout.

Full Tread Options

Full treads replace the entire step surface in one piece. Use the TrueStep Stair Tread on individual closed-return steps or the Modin Full Tread on steps with one open return. Neither tread should be used on top steps or landings. Both options work with installations of any Modin collection.

Nosing Options

Nosings finish the front edge of a step. Use them on the top step, landings, open stairs, or any step where you want the nosing to transition directly into your Modin planks. Two options cover every situation. Molded and TruePlank flush-mount nosings are SPC, custom pieces molded from actual planks. Original PVC Nosings and the Overlapping Stair Nose are PVC.

Common Questions

What is TruePlank/TrueStep?
TruePlank and TrueStep are our custom nosing and tread options molded in house from the same materials our Modin LVP is made from. They feature the same durable SPC core and industry-leading 40 mil wear layer.

Do I need both a full tread and a nosing?
If you have the Modin LVP laid on the top floor of the stairs, you will need a nosing for the top step, and can use a nosing or full tread on the individual steps based on the details mentioned in the compatibility chart.

Will the stair pieces match my floor?
All Modin stair pieces use the same print film as the planks. For Signature Microbevel and Craftsman collections, use the Signature Microbevel TruePlank Nosing (when applicable) for the best compatibility.

Do I need to trim the existing bullnose?
Usually, yes. The install manual covers two methods: cutting flush with a circular saw (recommended) or reshaping with a router. See the TrueStep stair prep section of the Modin Transitions and Trim Installation Manual for full details.
