Do you offer matching trim and transition pieces for Modin?
We offer four matching trim and transition pieces for every Modin color: T-Molding, Reducer, End Cap, and Quarter Round, plus matching stair options. Here is what each piece does and how to find yours.
Which Piece Do I Need?
- T-Molding (72"): bridges two floors at the same height, doorways and thresholds. The track glues to the subfloor, then the T-molding snaps in.
- Reducer (72"): transitions up or down between Modin and another floor with a 1/4" to 1/2" difference in height. The track glues to the subfloor, then the Reducer snaps in.
- End Cap (72"): terminates the floor against something a baseboard can't cover, fireplace hearths, sliding glass door tracks, exterior thresholds. The track glues down, then the End Cap snaps in with its flat edge against the vertical surface, covering the expansion gap.
- Quarter Round (72"): covers perimeter expansion gaps when keeping existing baseboards, or where the floor meets cabinets. Glues to the vertical surface and can be mitered at corners for a clean return.
A Note on Quarter Round Color: Our quarter rounds are color-matched to each Modin floor. If you'd rather use plain white, those are widely available at local hardware stores.
How to Find the Right Piece for Your Color
Go to your Modin color's product page on flooret.com and scroll to "Buy Transitions." Use the arrow to scroll through every matching piece. You can also search by color name and piece type from the site's search bar, or select your color from the dropdown menu on each piece's product page.

Installation
All four pieces share the same general method: cut to length with a power saw, lightly sand the track or back surface, apply construction adhesive, and press into place. Construction adhesive is typically repositionable for about 30 minutes, giving you time to dry-fit before it sets. T-Molding, Reducer, and End Cap are two-piece sets, the track glues to the subfloor first, then the transition piece snaps in. Quarter Round is a single piece that glues directly to the wall, baseboard, or cabinet. It is not recommended to nail or screw through the track to avoid damaging it.

Common Questions
How do I transition between Modin and carpet?
You have multiple options, depending on the look you want:
- T-Molding: Glue the track at the carpet edge so the edge slides underneath the tack strip. Install Modin to the other side, then snap in the T-molding.
- Reducer (for particularly plush carpets): Same installation process as the T-molding.
- End Cap: Install Modin up to the carpet leaving a ½"–¾" gap, glue down the End Cap, then tuck and trim the carpet edge.
- No transition piece: Pull carpet tight, wrap the cut edge under, and slide Modin planks underneath the wrapped edge.
What expansion gap do I need to leave?
A ¼" gap around the entire perimeter and on each side of any transition piece. This lets the floor expand and contract without buckling.
Do transition pieces come with the track?
T-Molding, Reducer, and End Cap come as two-piece sets (track + transition piece). Quarter Round is a single piece.
Can I install transition pieces without construction adhesive?
The track must be glued to the subfloor. Nailing or screwing through it can risk damaging the track and is not recommended.
