Rugs labeled "colorfast" or "safe for hardwood floors" work across all collections. Natural fiber backings (cotton, jute, woven) are fine, as are non-staining vinyl-backed mats, foam pads, and solid natural rubber pads with no added glues or adhesives. Look for "solid rubber" or "heat-pressed" on the label, since sprayed-on or liquid latex (even when marketed as "natural") carries the same risk as synthetic rubber below.

What to avoid
Old plastic mesh pads can leave residue in warm temperatures, avoid across all collections. Rubber or latex with plasticizers can react with any sealed surface finish and cause discoloration. This is a risk across all four collections, not just Modin, since the plasticizer-migration mechanism affects vinyl, laminate, and UV-cured/lacquered hardwood finishes alike. Adhesive-backed rubber should also be avoided across all collections. Adhesives can leave sticky residue and, on removal, can damage the surface coating regardless of material.
